Six unlicensed textile dyeing factories here have been sealed by revenue and Pollution Control Board (PCB) officials. Acting on a complaint by farmers, the officials to raid Periyasemur, Choolai and Periya Agraharam areas on suspicion that tanners and textile dyers are discharging treated effluent into drains. Inspections revealed that six factories were doing so and also operating without license following which they were sealed.
