Tirupur has been in crisis for about year and half, it has been hit by increasing yarn prices, dying pollution problem and labour shortage problem. General feeling is that tirupur is in to it's decline phase where in small and inefficient company will eventually been forced to close down. Hike in land values and inflation is also contributing factors to the problems faced in Tirupur. Government alone can prevent this hosiery town from a huge downfall.
