Decks cleared for textile park in Bathinda

Decks were cleared to set up one of its own kind Textile Park in Malwa region as Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal, today gave clearance to the conceptual plan of the Park. Accompanied by Local Government and Industries Minister Tikshan Sud, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the progress of Textile Park in a high level meeting held here with the representative of various departments, an official spokesman said here. The Industry department has identified 1700 acres of land in Bathinda, Ferozepur and Mansa districts. The Deputy Chief Minister said that he was already getting proposals from international Textile units to set up integrated textile plants in the Malwa region. He said that Textile Park would offer world class infrastructure including 24 hour power supply, assured water supply besides a package of concessions. Describing Textile Park as the job spinner for the state, Badal claimed that this park when fully completed has a potential to give employment to 70,000 skilled and unskilled youth.
